Toxic Chemical Cleaner ALTERNATIVES
Oh so true! There are some simple replacements for cleaning chemicals that people have used for hundreds of years before chemical companies started earning money off selling toxic concoctions. The original old "tried, true and tested" perfectly safe and efficient ways of doing things are still the best.
Use white vinegar instead of strong amonia window cleaners that are unsafe for your skin and lungs and could cause illness if accidently spilled on pets or children. If you cleaned finger prints off your glass, then you could have been absorbing any chemical residue that was on your glass!
Baking soda is a wonderful cleaner for stains on coffee cups, tile, porcelain, china, grout, getting food off dishes, grime off showers and tubs , oil and grease off the stove tops, and tea cup stains! You can use it plain as a paste with water or make it a paste with mild liquid dish soap to get paint off hands. It is a lot less abrasive than comet which ruins the surface of your appliances making it harder to clean again.
Use safe repellents instead of toxic, poisonous pesticide sprays which are poisonous to all living things including you!! Remember it is your pets and small children who are the most exposed. Pesticides have caused illnesses and fatal cancers. Know your history, many pesticides started after WWII warfare chemicals. They thought they could use it to kill bugs by attacking their nervous system also. One of the people to start producing it was a war criminal from Germany (which is now very much against using pesticides understandably). Most pesticides react simillarly to nerve gasses.
Use natural safe repellent products like mint oils, clove oils, peppermint oils, citrus oils, eucalyptus, wintergreen and lavendar to keep bugs away. Just keeping your home free of their food that attracts them works too. Bugs are Earth's vacuum cleaners! They are just doing their job so dont give them a reason to come in if you dont want them. Sweep regularly, dont leave food out, take B1 supplements for not getting bit by mosquitos, fleas and knats! Make sure your screens dont have holes, if so patch them, dont leave doors open without screens. Make sure you dont have any gaps between outside door jams. If you have ants most likely you have at least a small leak! Get it fixed. If you must use something use traps which work better and last longer and are safer than spraying pesticides all over your home!
The more we reach out the more people learn that there are safer, better ways! A lot of the problem is the lack of knowledge for safer alternatives, and realizing just how toxic products are even if they are sold over the counter and have cute littlle adds on TV telling people this is what you should use...I wish there were TV adds telling people about these safer, often cheaper, and more efficient products that are available !
Take care everyone, hope the info helps. Do your research, there is always another way that could be better, safer, and healthier!
